In Tehran, during Eurasian Stock Exchanges Federation (YEFBF, FEAS) General Assembly's special session, it was decided to move federation headquarter from Istanbul to Yerevan.
After receiving the majority of votes in the General Assembly, Armenia has become a country of YEFBF headquarter. Since the foundation of the Federation in 1995, it have headquartered in Istanbul.
After YEFBF head office relocation, NASDAQ OMX will support the administrative management of the federation. "NASDAQ OMX Armenia" CEO Konstantin Saroyan is elected the general secretary of the federation. His candidacy was approved by the majority of votes of the General Assembly, with the support of the Executive Board.
"Taking the administrative management of the federation, we are setting a new, critical era of the Eurasian Federation of Stock Exchanges. Being in the center of Eastern and Western cultures, Armenia will contact and interference with the different political ideologies within the federation, which will impact on the development and further growth of it ",-said NASDAQ OMX Armenia CEO, Konstantin Saroyan.
Armenia (Yerevan Stock Exchange, the OJSC "Armenia stock exchange," and then "NASDAQ OMX Armenia" OJSC) was among 12 founder exchanges of Eurasian Stock Exchanges Association. In November 2016 NASDAQ OMX Armenia has also became a member of the executive board YEFBF.
