Prime Minister Karen Karapetyan had a meeting with Kazakh Prime Minister Bakitzhan Sagintan in Astana.

The head of the Kazakh government noted that the current level of inter-state relations, the high political dialogue between the two states is a good basis for the deepening of economic cooperation. Mr. Sagintan emphasized that high-level reciprocal visits will greatly contribute to the further development and deepening of the Armenian-Kazakh relations.

Expressing gratitude for the warm welcome, the Prime Minister noted that he is glad to meet with his counterpart on the threshold of the 25th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between Armenia and Kazakhstan. According to Karen Karapetyan, the tendencies of growth are observed in the Armenian-Kazakh trade and economic relations and there is a potential for further development of economic cooperation. The prime minister underlined that in both countries there are many perspective projects that can be implemented on the basis of joint and mutually beneficial conditions. The interlocutors discussed a number of issues related to the bilateral agenda, pointing out a number of cooperation directions.

According to the RA National Statistical Service, the foreign trade turnover of Armenia in the first half of 2017 made $ 2.3 million, with an annual growth of 56.4%. In particular, exports increased by 34% to $ 1.8 million, imports by 3.2 times to $ 584.3 thousand.
