According to the data released by the National Statistical Service of Armenia, cigarette production in Armenia in January-June 2017 increased by 20.4% compared with the same period in 2016. In the first half of last year, 10 million 173.1 thousand cigarettes were produced in Armenia, and 12 million 250 thousand in January-June of this year. As a result of the registered growth, the share of tobacco production in the industry was 15.3%. It should be mentioned that the prevalence of cigarette smoking in the age group of 16 and above in Armenia is more than 50% among men and 3-4% among women. According to statistics, more than half of men over 16 years old are smokers in Armenia, which is a high indicator.
