Chairman of the RA State Commission for the Protection of Economic Competition Artak Shaboyan left for a three-day working visit to the Russian Federation, where he will chair the CIS Interstate Council of anti-monopoly Policy of the CIS and EEU member states in Veliky Novgorod.
According to SCPEC, at the level of heads of competent bodies of the participating countries discussed the course of work on protection of economic competition, as well as cases of mutual interest in the field of anti-monopoly policy.
A. Shaboyan made a speech on the work done in the field of competition regulation of our country, the course of proceedings and other key issues. The SCPEC Chairman has also presented to colleagues some cases of unfair competition in the Commission's proceedings.
In parallel with the movement of capital, goods and services, the nature of the violations of competition legislation also changes. The cases of the division of markets by large-scale transnational corporations and the conclusion of anti-competitive agreements by them are becoming increasingly frequent, which restrict competition.
Fight against such phenomena cannot be effective, without the coordinated co-operation of competitiveness agencies of different countries. This issue is most relevant in the case of small countries. The aim of the convention therefore is to provide effective mechanisms for the exchange of information between the competent authorities of different countries of the world, joint audits and proceedings, document exchange and other cooperation arrangements.
