"Agriculture is one of the most important sectors of Armenia's economy, which provides 19.6% of Armenia's GDP and 36.2% of Armenia's labor force," US Chargé d'Affaires Rafik Mansur said today.

He has participated today in the business forum on agriculture, organized by the US Embassy in Armenia, the Ministry of Agriculture and HSBC Bank. The goal was to present to Armenian companies the experience of American famous Valmont and Monsanto companies, products and technologies, and the formation of ties.

R. Mansur noted that the United States strives to improve the commercial opportunities of the two countries and deepen trade and investment relations.

"We can say with pleasure that the commodity turnover between the United States and Armenia in the first 8 months of this year has increased by 35%," the US Chargé d'Affaires said.
