Armenian Minister of Energy and Natural Resources Ashot Manukyan, speaking at the meeting of the CIS Electric Power Council in November in Tashkent, presented the main directions of Armenia's energy development.

According to the information and public relations department of the Ministry of Energy and Natural Resources of the Republic of Armenia, the Minister touched upon the issues of development of atomic energy in our country, diversification of primary energy resources and increasing the efficiency of gas heaters production. In his speech, Ashot Manukyan also talked about the steps to be taken to increase the share of the electricity generated from own renewable sources in the domestic consumption structure. Introducing the roadmap for renewable energy development in the CIS countries, Georgy Yermolenko, Head of the Renewable Energy Development Center of the Russian Higher School of Economics, emphasized that Armenia's experience in renewable energy development and energy efficiency is instructive. The meeting discussed more than sixty other issues related to the safety of the operation of the electro-gas station, the reliability of the equipment, the reduction of the environmental impact, as well as sectoral issues. Personnel issues were also touched upon.
