At today's government session, Prime Minister Karen Karapetyan touched upon the second stage of the Meghri free economic zone.

"The first phase of the Meghri Free Economic Zone, which was initiated by the Government, ended on December 15, and the free economic zone started to operate," the Prime Minister said.

Karen Karapetyan mentioned that it is necessary to undertake coordinated measures to complete the second phase of the relevant works as soon as possible.

Taking into consideration the aforementioned, the Prime Minister instructed the Ministers of Territorial Administration and Development, Energy Infrastructure and Natural Resources, the State Revenue Committee, the State Cadastre Committee and the State Water Committee to take joint measures with the Minister of Economic Development and Investments for the second phase of the Meghri Free Economic Zone to ensure the technical conditions of the necessary infrastructures..

Karen Karapetyan instructed the Foreign and Economic Development and Investments Ministers to continue their work to provide the broadest possible information on the benefits of the Free Economic Zone of Meghri, its trade and logistics capabilities, as well as the economically advantageous regimes through Armenia's diplomatic missions.

He also instructed the Minister of Economic Development and Investments to periodically report to the Government Staff on the progress of the work.
