
As of January 1, 2018, the currency component in the total credit portfolio of Armenian banks (except for extended and overdue loans) made 62.3% or 1.586 trillion AMD, annual growth was 8.9%, and only in the fourth quarter - 7.6%. At the same time, the share of dram credits amounted to 37.7% or 958.9 billion drams, annual growth of absolute value - 16.4%, and quarterly - 11.9%.
According to the Central Bank of Armenia, the total volume of bank crediting increased by 11% in 2018 to 2,677 trillion drams, and in the IV trimester grew by 7.3%. The credit investments of the Armenian banking system grew by 11.6% and 9.2% in the fourth trimester, making 2,545 trillion drams.
The share of extended and overdue loans in 2017, was 3.72% and 1.19% respectively. Overdue loans have decreased by 0.5% and by 16.1% in the trimester and amounted to 31.8 billion drams. The volume of extended loans has decreased by 0.2% during the year and 20.5% in the quarter, making 99.6 billion drams. In the structure of extended loans, short-term loans are dominant, whereas long-term loans dominate in the structure of overdue loans.
