Although 2018 has just begun, new achievements in winemaking have already been registered. Particularly, with the support of the Armenian Viniculture and Winemaking Foundation, 14 winemaking companies from 5 to 9 February participated in the 25th jubilee "ProdExpo" in Moscow.

As reported by the press service of the RA Ministry of Agriculture, Armenian companies presented their products for the second time in a joint pavilion at the largest annual international exhibition of the region.

"We met with representatives of Germany, Canada, Hungary, who are interested in Armenian winemaking. I think we will have contracts in the future for export, "said Zaruhi Muradyan, Executive Director of the Armenian Vineyard and Wine Making Foundation.

Wine industry experts are convinced that soon the Armenian wine will have its unique place on the wine map of the world. They also hope that simultaneously the wine drinking culture in Armenia will further develop.

According to the RA National Statistical Service, in Armenia, 8.8 million liters of wine was produced in 2017 and the export increased by 30%. According to the latest data of the Customs Service of Armenia, 1.2 million liters of wine was exported in the first half of 2017, an annual increase of 61%, and the increase in customs value - 84.3% to $ 4.7 million. More than 80% of exports (1 million liters) fall to the Russian market. At the same time, export to Russia increased by 68.1% in the reporting period.
