RA Minister of Finance Vardan Aramyan received the delegation of the State Tax Authority of Iraq. According to the press service of the Ministry of Finance of Armenia, the parties touched upon the possibility of signing an agreement on excluding double taxation and prevention of taxation of income and property between the Republic of Armenia and the Republic of Iraq.

The basis for the signing of the double taxation agreement was the increase in the share of trade turnover with Iraq, which was 2.7%. According to Deputy Finance Minister David Ananyan, it is a rather high figure and should be taken into account during negotiations on excluding double taxation. "The Republic of Iraq is one of the exceptional countries where in the export-import balance exports exceed imports, that is to say, we are the most exporting country for the Iraqi Republic," Ananyan said. According to the deputy minister, not only export volumes are contributing to the signing of the double taxation agreement. The signing of the agreement, according to the RA Deputy Minister of Finance, promises a more balanced tax field for business relations between the two countries. Negotiations scheduled for February 19-22 are the initial stage of signing an agreement to exclude double taxation with Iraq and the intergovernmental agreement will be signed after their completion.
