The RA State Commission for the Protection of Economic Competition has initiated an administrative proceeding against "Ucom" company.

At the initiative of the Commission, a study was conducted in the market of television advertising, as a result of which the following was revealed: Ucom is advertising its new service called "Revolutionary Offer", which offers its fixed-line subscribers to use a mobile phone service "Universal".

By listing a set of terms for joining the package, the company does not inform consumers of any of the essential conditions. This service can only be used when subscribing to the package for 2 years. In addition, the advertisement shows a group of people posting a "rally" by posters, in which on one of the green posters is marked with white letters "TO GREEN- YES, TO THE REST-NO".

According to the RA Competition Authority, the display of the advertisement, as well as the incomplete information about the essential conditions of the service may create misleading for the public about the business entity, its activities or products, as well as the possibility of damage to the reputation or value of the economic entity.

Taking into account the above-mentioned circumstances, the Commission will examine the issue of possible breach of the law by "Ucom", in particular, unfair competition.

The Commission once again encourages economic entities to provide consumers with reliable and complete information on the proposed products or services.
