The second session of the Armenia-US Trade and Investment Council will be held today in Washington.

According to the RA Ministry of Economic Development and Investments, delegation headed by Deputy Minister of Economic Development and Investments Hovhannes Azizyan left for the United States to participate in the sitting.

The Armenian delegation includes representatives of the Armenian Ministry of Foreign Affairs, State Food Security Service, Ministry of Labor and Social Affairs of RA, RA SRC.

During the meeting, issues related to the expansion of bilateral trade-economic and investment cooperation, in particular trade barriers, sanitary and phytosanitary, customs, intellectual property rights, and work areas will be discussed.

Within the framework of the session, a roundtable will be held with the participation of representatives of business communities of the two countries.

The upcoming session of the Armenian-American Trade and Investment Council on March 19 reaffirms the US commitment to deepen trade and investment relations with Armenia. We already see progress, in particular, in 2017 42% growth of trade turnover was registered.

This high-level meeting following the recent visit of US Deputy Assistant Secretary of State for Economic and Business Affairs Brian MacFiters to Armenia is another step forward within our dialogue aimed at eliminating obstacles to trade and investment between our two countries, "US Ambassador to Armenia Richard Mills said.

"During the session, we will discuss existing regulations, considering trade facilitation opportunities, which, of course, will promote trade promotion between our countries. We will also present our investment environment and the work to improve it. We will also discuss with the American side the measures that will make Armenia's investment climate more attractive for American companies, "said Azizyan.
