
Prime Minister Karen Karapetyan received Italian Ambassador to Armenia Giovanni Richuli on completion of his diplomatic mission in our country.
Karen Karapetyan thanked the Ambassador to contribute to the development of the Armenian-Italian relations and wished success in the future.
The prime minister highly assessed the cooperation between the two countries in political and cultural spheres and highlighted the steps to deepen economic ties. "In this respect, we have much more potential than we do. In 2017 Armenia and Italy had a 25% growth in commodity turnover and we hope that the growth will continue as a result of the active work of the intergovernmental commission," he said.
The prime minister attached importance to cooperation with Italy within the framework of Armenia-EU relations.
Ambassador Giovanni Richulli also thanked Karen Karapetyan for close cooperation, underlining that in recent years, good trends in business relations are observed in Armenian-Italian relations. In the ambassador's words, as a result of the active work of the Armenian government, Italian businessmen have increased interest towards Armenia. "I am sure that in the future this interest will bring good results," said Giovanni Richulli.
During the meeting the interlocutors discussed various issues on the agenda of the two countries, touched upon the possibility of organizing bilateral flights, highlighting the first session of the intergovernmental commission last year.
