In the first quarter of 2018 imports of cars from third countries to Armenia increased by 168.1%. According to Karen Gevorgyan, Deputy Head of Ararat Customs Department of the State Revenue Committee, 13,868 vehicles were imported in January-March, bringing 8 billion 859 million drams into state budget as a result of customs clearance.

"The index exceeded by 8633 compared to the same period of 2017. In particular, the state budget revenues have grown by 278.6% due to 5,135 vehicles imported in January-March of 3 billion 180 million drams. The growth is mainly driven by the new workflow introduced in 2018, "he said.

The State Revenue Committee has come up with an unprecedented innovation since the beginning of the year in the context of improvements in service quality, reduction of procedures and simplification of customs clearance. In particular, it refers to publication of information on customs value used during the declaration of motor vehicles transported on the border of Armenia at petekamutner.am from January 8. According to Karen Gevorgyan, the information on the website has been regularly reviewed and updated.

"From the 10th of April the car's customs value automated calculator has been launched. It allows citizens to know beforehand what payments will be made after importing the car. The process of determining customs value with such a work style becomes more transparent, public, reliable and predictable, allowing car importers to organize their work with high productivity and save time and plan expenses, "said Karen Gevorgyan, deputy head of Araratyan customs-department.

The programmed calculator of SRC IT specialists is available on the homepage of petekamutner.am in the "e-Services" section. The site visitor only needs to enter the car brand, date, engine power, and other required data. The automated system will calculate the full amount showing how much the car's customs duties, environmental charges, and VAT are.
