The volumes of the Armenian interbank currency market increased 4.6 times last week, after a growth 8.3 times the previous week.

Simultaneously, the volume of dollar transactions increased in the intra-banking currency market, whereas transactions in the euro decreased, and the ruble buying deals activated, keeping the sales zero dynamics in selling. The stock platform remains empty. As a result, the dram strengthened against the dollar from May 14 to 18, from 486 to 483.3 drams / $ 1, and against the euro -from 580 to 570 drams/1 euro, and from 7.9 to 7.8 drams /1 ruble.

According to the press service of the Central Bank of Armenia, the total volume of transactions concluded on May 14-18 amounted to $ 11.450 million at the weighted average exchange rate of 484.38 drams / $ 1, and the maximum volume was recorded on Mondays and Sundays - 2.650 $ and $ 3.2 million. At the same time, the dollar's buying and selling dynamics changed dramatically from 19-9.7% decline to 36.4% -30.5% growth, the euro buying growth from 52.8% went down to 17%, and sales - 24.8% to 16.5% decline, and in ruble transactions the purchase has increased from 2.4% to 26.4%, while sales have slowed down from 15.4% to 0.1%. As a result, $ 93.6 million was purchased at the average exchange rate of 483.42 drams / $ 1, 9.13 million euros at 573.52 drams per euro, and 1,092 billion rubles, with an average weighted rate of 7.76 drams/ 1 ruble. And $ 92.8 million was sold at the average exchange rate of 484.73 drams / $ 1, 14.7 million euros at an average rate of 577.06 AMD / 1 euro and 546.7 million rubles at an average rate of 7.86 AMD /1 ruble.
