RA Minister of Economic Development and Trade Artsvik Minasyan has met with the member of the Board of Directors of the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD), head of the Dutch group Frans Wickers.
As the Information and Public Relations Department of the Armenian Ministry of Economic Development and Investments informed, the meeting was attended by EBRD Armenia Director Dmitri Gvinadzade, Deputy Minister of Regional Development Avag Avanesyan and Head of International Cooperation Office Armen Ayvazyan.
Welcoming the guests, the Minister thanked the EBRD for its support and ongoing cooperation. Issues related to Armenia-EBRD projects and priorities for further cooperation were discussed at the meeting. Artsvik Minasyan presented the economic reforms in the country after the recent political developments, touched upon the steps to improve the investment and business environment. The issues of anti-monopoly policy, creation of equal conditions for business, market liberalization, regulation of the legislative field were highlighted.
Frans Wickers welcomed the reforms in Armenia, reaffirmed their commitment to the structure. At the same time, he informed that EBRD Board of Directors members will visit Armenia in autumn, during which they will outline the priorities and problems of further cooperation with the Republic of Armenia, and in the first quarter of 2019 the EBRD Armenia will present a five-year program of support to our country.
