RA Minister of Agriculture Artur Khachatryan and Deputy Minister Artak Kamalyan were on a working visit to the Republic of Georgia on September 18-19.
On the first day of the visit Artur Khachatryan had a private talk with the Minister of Environment and Agriculture of the Republic of Georgia Levan Davitashvili, which was followed by a meeting of the delegations of the two countries in the enlarged format, attended by RA Deputy Minister of Agriculture Artak Kamalyan, Deputy Minister of Environment Protection and Agriculture of Georgia Giorgi Khanishvili, Ministry representatives.
The sides discussed a wide range of issues of bilateral cooperation in the field of agriculture between Armenia and Georgia. Levan Davitashvili presented the state support programs for the development of agriculture in Georgia.
"This is my first visit to the Republic of Georgia as Minister and I should note that there is considerable progress in the agrarian sector. With great interest I’ve got acquainted with the news and I hope our effective cooperation will be continuous, "Artur Khachatryan said in an interview with Palitra News.
Within the framework of the visit, the Armenian delegation also visited the Jikara's multi-year crop research base, as well as the Ivane Sarishvili Laboratory of Analytical Research (DNA) in Tsilcanium, followed by grape harvesting, acquaintance with Georgian grape varieties, tasting aromatic Georgian wine.
