Facebook social network founder Mark Zuckerberg has admitted that the social network has "made mistakes", causing the personal information of millions of users to be used by a political consulting firm.

British private "Cambridge Analytica" company is accused of using unlawfully the information about customers in the political sphere.

According to Zuckerberg, "abuse of confidence" took place.

Zuckerberg has promised to take action against "fraudulent apps".

"We have the responsibility to protect your data and if we cannot, then we are not worthy of serving you," Zuckerberg said.
