By the request of the International Monetary Fund (IMF), the increase in gas tariffs for the Ukrainian population will bring to a social explosion, said Supreme Rada deputy Yuri Boyko.

The IMF does not even try to negotiate with Kyiv, but only dictates claims, Boyko said on "Inter" TV.

Meanwhile, the countries that fulfill the IMF's recommendations, against the national interests, face social wave of protest, reminded the MP.

He appealed to the Ukrainian authorities to review the program of cooperation with the IMF, RIA Novosti reports.

Boyko said the country should develop the economy, lower taxes and tariffs for the industry's revival.

Ukraine's policy must comply with national interests, not the IMF's requirements, the MP said.
