At the end of 2019 the unified payment system can be formed in the territory of the Eurasian Economic Union, which will significantly contribute to the expansion of the Russian "Mir" card system not only in the EEU area, but also in the whole world, the Russian "Economy Today" portal said.

According to the source, at present "Mir" system cards are issued by more than 100 banks, and are served by more than 400 credit organizations. Russia has already succeeded in implementing the "Mir" card acceptance project with Armenia, as a result of which "Mir" cards can be used in the two countries, and the calculations can be carried out in two currencies. Similar programs exist also with other EEU countries.
