Sberbank has become the most expensive Russian company in terms of capitalization on the Moscow Stock Exchange. Thus, the total value of shares of a credit institution at the close of trading Mosbirzh on Thursday reached 4 trillion 435.4 billion rubles, according to data from the trading platform.
As a result, Sberbank bypassed Rosneft, whose capitalization on the basis of trading fell to 4 trillion 364.9 billion rubles. The largest Russian bank ceded Rosneft superiority in capitalization in August of this year. Then the shares of Sberbank declined due to fears of the next US sanctions, and Rosneft’s quotes strengthened against the backdrop of rising global oil prices.
It should be noted that 14,174 employees were dismissed from Sberbank in January-September of this year. The number of staff decreased by 4.6%, reaching 296.1 thousand people.
In 2025, Sberbank CEO German Gref intends to halve the number of employees.
