Bogle suffered from heart problems. For the first time he had a heart attack at the age of 30.

In 1975, he founded the Vanguard Group. For the first year, the company's assets amounted to 1.7 billion dollars. In 2018, this figure reached 5.1 trillion dollars.

In 1999, Fortune named Boglе one of the four giants of the investment sector of the 20th century, and in 2014, Time included him on the list of the 100 most influential people in the world.
