The Japanese city of Yokohama hosted the 50th annual meeting of the Asian Development Bank's Governing Council, Deputy Finance Minister Armen Hayrapetyan also attended.
As the Ministry of Finance informed finagent.am, the Armenian delegation headed by Deputy Prime Minister, Minister of International economic integration and reforms Vache Gabrielyan.
ADB is celebrating its 50-year partnership with the region. ADB aims to reduce poverty in Asia and Pacific region through inclusive economic growth and regional integration.
On the first day of meetings, referring to the ADB's achievements in the member countries, ADB President Takehiko Nakao summarize them in three main areas: financial assets (loans and grants) a combination of infrastructure and the knowledge of social sector development, the proper policy through dialogue, developing of capacity and decision making on the basis of regional cooperation and political achievements.
ADB and Armenia have more than 10 years of cooperation doing the numerous projects in the fields of energy, transport and water infrastructure, promoting business and investment, and other areas. All programs are a tangible contribution to our country's economic growth and development prospects, as well as raising the level of services, improving the quality of life.
