Supply of NPР equipment will start in November.

It is planned to launch the supply of the first phase of the NPР equipment for the extension of the operation of the second power unit in Armenia this November. The information and public relations department of the Ministry of Energy and Natural Resources of Armenia informs that the tenders are being executed and contracts are concluded for replacement of equipment.

According to Hayk Badalyan, Head of Energy Ministry's Department, in the first half of the year, 16 contracts for the provision of services were submitted to the Armenian and Russian Finance Ministries in accordance with the established procedure between the authorized organizations within the framework of the extension of the power unit.

"At present, the RA Draft Law" On the Deactivation of the First Power Unit of the Armenian Nuclear Power Plant CJSC "and the RA Government Decision on Approving the Investment Plan for the Extension of the Terminal for the Exploitation of the Second Unit of the Armenian Nuclear Power Plant CJSC and the Implementation of the Action Plans are carried out, Hayk Badalyan said.

The source reminds that the project on extending the operation of the second unit of the Armenian NPP is implemented on the agreement of 270 million dollars provided by the governments of the RA and RF and at the expense of the $ 30 million grant.
