Prometey Bank has funded the construction of the Baptist Basin of the Holy Mother of God Church in Kanaker (17th century).

According to the bank's report, the ceremony will take place soon.

The church is a triangular basilica, with two pairs of chapels in the prayer hall, with a chapel on the eastern side and a couple of adjoining tombs, with entrances from the southern and western sides.

During the Soviet era the church stopped working, becoming a warehouse.

After Armenia proclaimed its independence, it was renovated by the Agency for Preservation of Historical and Cultural Monuments.
