The increase in prices for air tickets from Armenia to Russia is due to the fact that there is a high demand. Head of the RA Civil Aviation Department Sergey Avetisyan told journalists after the government session.

"We are in touch with airline companies every day, and today we are waiting for some reactions on additional flights. We all need to understand that the airline should have a free airplane to add a flight. Regarding price policy, we have always said that we do not directly influence on price policy, we can have an indirect impact, thanks to increased competition. It is necessary to either increase the number of seats or increase the number of aircrafts, "Avetisyan mentioned.

According to him, in 2017, for seven months the passenger flow has increased by about 30%. "In the 7 months of this year, we have another very interesting statistics: the flow of incoming traffic is more than outgoing. In other words, more people have come to our country than they have left. It also indicates an unexpected increase in demand, "Avetisyan said, adding that the airlines seeing all this should take the appropriate steps next year. Air tickets in Armenia have gone up in demand. In particular, tickets to Barcelona and Italian cities have risen to € 300. Travel tickets to Moscow have risen to about 120,000 drams. Tickets for Yerevan-Kiev flights have been increased from the most demanded destinations.
