The staff of the Russian Sberbank OJSC group has dropped by 2.6% or more than 8,000 people in six months. This is stated in the report of the International Financial Reporting Standards (IBRD) for the first half of 2017. As of 30 June 2017, the actual number of bank staff (full-time staff) was 310,904 (319,153 people on December 31, 2016).

Sberbank's net profit increased by 27.6% in the second quarter compared to the same period last year and amounted to 185.6 billion rubles.

In January it became known that Sberbank intends to dismiss 3,000 employees and replace them with robots. At the end of 2016, there worked a robot lawyer who was making individual claims. Additionally, the bank announced a reduction in the number of employees by 8% as a result of online banking.
