Commodity turnover between Armenia and Russia has increased by 15% in a year. Armenian President Serzh Sargsyan stated this at the August 23 meeting with Russian President Vladimir Putin in Sochi.
"Our trade-economic relations are intensively developing. Last year we had a 15% increase in trade turnover. During the first six months of this year it has grown by almost 24%. The connection between the governments and parliaments of our countries is permanent. Cooperation in interregional and humanitarian areas is constantly developing.
Of course, all this contributes to regular visits at high levels. This year the President of the Duma of the Russian Federation, the Secretary of the Security Council visited Armenia, and I am in Moscow on an official visit with our Speaker of the Parliament and the Prime Minister. In autumn, we are waiting for Russia's Prime Minister, Minister of Foreign Affairs, Minister Manturov, as part of a large delegation of business and government officials within the framework of the Second International Conference on Eurasian Cooperation.
A few days ago, the meetings of three important bilateral commissions were held for military-technical, trade-economic and parliamentary cooperation. Days of Armenia will be held in Russia in autumn. It is very important that events within the framework of these days are not limited to the Russian capital, events will be held in 13 Russian cities, "President Serzh Sargsyan said.
