The volumes of the Armenian interbank money market on September 4-8 increased by 8.7% after the triple increase last week. At the same time, the purchase of the dollar was intensified in the intra-banking market, but the sale was passive, as well as in transactions in the euro and the ruble. The exchange currency platform remains empty.As a result, the dram continues to strengthen against the dollar - from 478.5 to 478 drams / $ 1, weakening against EUR from 569 to 577 drams, and from 8.3 to 8.4 drams against Ruble. A year ago, on September 8, 2016, the dram exchange rate against the dollar was 475 drams / $ 1, 534 drams / euro against the euro, and 7.4 drams / ruble, which indicates annual depreciation of AMD against these currencies.
According to the press service of the Central Bank of Armenia, the NASDAQ OMX Armenia trading platform has been empty for 4 months. On September 4-8, the volume of transactions in the interbank money market made $ 13.8mln at the average exchange rate of 478.31drams / $ 1 (last week: 478.56). At the same time, the dollar's purchasing dynamics recorded a 0.4% increase after a 0.7% decline in the intra-banking interbank market, and a 16.3% increase in sales was replaced by 16.5% decline, a euro buying growth of 3% was replaced by a 8.9% decline, slowing down the 14.4% growth in sales to 5.6%. The 4.3-22% growth in ruble sales was replaced with a 12.2- 3.3% decline. As a result, $ 69.3 million was bought at at the average exchange rate of AMD 477.51 / $ 1, 9.2 million EUR at an average rate of 568.12 drams / euro and 1.2 billion rubles at an average weighted rate of 8.26 AMD / RUB. And was sold $ 77.5 million at the average rate of 478.85 drams / $ 1, 11.8 million EUR at the average rate of 571.69 / 1EUR and 506.3 million rubles at an average of 8.35 AMD / ruble.
According to the source, Armenian banks provided loans in 39.5 billion AMD and $ 81 million last week (from August 28 to September 2). The dynamics of loans extended to the previous period (August 21-26) is as follows: the dram loans have grown by 1.8% after the 8.7% decline, and the 6% growth in loans in dollars accelerated to 88.4%.
