The third session of the Armenian-Czech intergovernmental commission on economic cooperation was held in Yerevan.

The Co-Chairs of the Intergovernmental Commission are: Armenian side was represented by First Deputy Minister of Economic Development and Investments Garegin Melkonyan, Czech Republic- by Deputy Minister of Industry and Trade Vladimir Bartle.

During the meeting the prospects and opportunities of cooperation between Armenia and the Czech Republic in trade-economic, financial, energy, agriculture, healthcare, education and science, culture, standardization, transport, information technology, tourism and other spheres were discussed.

According to Garegin Melkonyan, Deputy Minister of Economic Development and Investments, co-chair of the Armenian-Czech intergovernmental commission, a wide range of issues were discussed during the meeting and agreements were reached on cooperation in different directions.

"In general, this agenda will be a good precondition for the next year. It has been designed to be a very saturated and multifaceted agenda focused on private and inter-governmental cooperation, "he said.

Czech Deputy Minister of Industry and Trade, Czech Co-Chair Vladimir Bartle, in his turn, said:

"There is good cooperation with Armenia. There are many similarities between Armenia and the Czech Republic. In addition, Armenia can be viewed not only as an open country but also as a gateway to Iran and Russia. "
