UK Prime Minister Thereza May appointed UK Parliament member Marc Pritchard as the United Kingdom's Trade Commissioner in Armenia and Georgia.

Trade commissioners are parliamentarians appointed by Prime Minister from various political spectrum representatives. They are engaged in one or more new markets where the UK government sees trading and investment opportunities. Trade Commissioners support economic growth, based on existing relationships between UK and these markets, maximizing bilateral trade.

Mr Pritchard said on his appointment:

"I have been honored to receive the Prime Minister's invitation to take on the role of the First Trade Commissioner in Armenia and Georgia. My appointment emphasizes the importance of promoting trade and investment of the UK with Armenia and Georgia and the readiness of the United Kingdom government to promote the development of trade and business relations between our countries. There are many opportunities for trade and investments to be realized.
