In January-August 2017, 1.8% fall in prices was recorded in the consumer market of Armenia, instead of the 3.8% in the same period of 2016. This was due to the decline in food prices (including alcohol and cigarettes) by 2.9%, non-food products by 2.1%, and 0.1% service prices.

According to the RA National Statistical Service, 0.6% price growth was registered in the consumer market, which was resulted by the growth of food prices by 3.8%, non-food prices - by 2.9% and services prices - 1.6%. The average monthly drop in prices for foods in January-August amounted to 0.2% compared with the previous year's 0.5% decline.

Consumer prices increased by 0.7% in August 2017, as compared with August 2016, due to an increase in food prices by 2.7%, while non-food prices dropped by 1.8% and service tariffs rose by 0.5%. Only in August the price decline made 0.4%, in particular, food prices dropped by 1.4%, non-food prices rose by 0.2%, and service tariffs rose by 0.6%. Consumer prices in Yerevan in August, 2017 fell by 0.4% compared with the previous year's 0.5% decline.
