An agreement on investment promotion and mutual protection will be signed between the governments of Armenia and India. The government approved the proposal to sign an agreement.

Deputy Minister of Economic Development and Investments Hovhannes Azizyan noted that this will provide an opportunity to create favorable conditions for investors of both countries on the basis of equality and mutual benefit, contributing to the promotion of business initiatives in both countries. "The agreement guarantees full protection and insurance to the investor of each party, as well as acceptance of investments in accordance with the legislation of the Party. Armenian-Indian programs are expected in the following areas: processing industry, jewelry, textiles, information technologies, etc. ", the deputy minister said. The draft includes articles on the promotion and protection of investments, compensation for damage, settlement of problems related to liquidation and alienation, appropriate compensations, settlement of disputes between reconciling parties and other provisions. The separate articles of the project also specify the conditions for the entry into force of the agreement, the duration and termination of the agreement, as well as the scope of actions.
