Minister of Economic Development and Investments of the Republic of Armenia Suren Karayan and Minister of Investments and International Cooperation of the Arab Republic of Egypt Sahar Nasr signed a memorandum of understanding in the field of investments.

According to the press service of the ministry, the two sides stressed the importance of the memorandum during the meeting and noted that it is necessary to take the right and targeted steps to implement it. "We will drive the first wheel to move forward," said Sahar Nasr, Minister of Investments and International Cooperation of the Arab Republic of Egypt.

Minister Karayan has suggested developing joint investment projects, combining the advantages of both countries and privileged markets.

During the meeting the cooperation between the free economic zones of Egypt and Armenia was highlighted. Particularly, the prospects of cooperation will be discussed in detail with the Suez Free Economic Zone responsible for the Egyptian delegation.

According to Minister Karayan, there is a need to support cooperation of businessmen of the two countries, especially in the sphere of agriculture, which will lead to the growth of trade turnover. Sahara Nasr has offered regular visits to business circles.

The sides also touched upon the cooperation between the logistics companies.

Both ministers reaffirmed their readiness to promote economic cooperation between Armenia and Egypt through regular contact and dialogue.
