In the framework of the official visit to Iran, the Armenian delegation headed by RA Prime Minister Karen Karapetyan visited "Ararat" sports and cultural complex where he met with representatives of the local Armenian community, including the business sector.

Karen Karapetyan underscored that Armenia has a great potential for economic cooperation with the neighbor Iran, and there are various proposals for the realization of this, taking into account the existing economic regimes and opportunities in Armenia. The Prime Minister noted that regional cooperation issues, in particular, the Armenia-Iran-Turkmenistan cooperation in trilateral format were discussed with the Iranian authorities. "I am convinced that this trilateral cooperation will greatly contribute to the increase of trade turnover. In general, we have agreed with our Iranian colleagues to give "restart" to the relations of our countries, to continue joint efforts to unite their capacities to have good results, "the Prime Minister said. Addressing representatives of the Iranian-Armenian community, he said: "I propose to all of you to become a strong bridge between your Armenian-Iranian relations and not only patriotic motives, but also profitable businesses. I am convinced that there are opportunities to implement profitable programs in Armenia and our government will stand by each business. I suggest you live in two homes, one here and the other in Armenia. "

Then Karen Karapetyan presented the reforms initiated by the RA Government and stressed that the steps taken in the economic sphere are aimed at creating equal and favorable conditions for business. "We have started reforms in all directions, taking into account the results of the diagnosis. Our goal was to diagnose what is particularly hindering the development of the economy. In that regard, our programs are aimed at improving the efficiency of governance, economy, simplification and improvement of tax and customs administration, "the Prime Minister said. At the same time, he informed that 5.5% economic growth was registered in Armenia in the first 8 months of the current year, while the budget projected a growth by 3.2% at the beginning of the year. "We have 21% export, 28.6% import growth, and it is gratifying that about 50% of imports are capital investments and are aimed at business development rather than consumption. We are determined to develop transparency and equal conditions for our country's economy and business. I am sure that we have all the opportunities to ensure economic growth, "said Karen Karapetyan.

Prime Minister Karapetyan answered a number of Iranian-Armenian issues concerning the development of Armenian-Iranian economic cooperation, programs implemented in Armenia, steps and projects in industry, tourism, transport, education, science, culture, settlement of the Nagorno-Karabakh issue.
