
Prime Minister Karen Karapetyan received Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of China to Armenia Tian Erlun and Vice-President of Synohydro Company involved in the North-South Road Construction Project, Xion Lixin.
Karen Karapetyan attached importance to the ongoing development and strengthening of the Armenian-Chinese economic relations and underlined that the Armenian government is interested in attracting Chinese capital to the Armenian market. The Prime Minister expressed confidence that the two countries have great potential for mutually beneficial cooperation, taking into account the possibilities of our country for business, exit to the EAEU, the European and Iranian markets.
For his part, Ambassador Tian Erlun noted that China also attaches importance to the strengthening of mutually beneficial ties with Armenia and underlined that today there are wide opportunities to finance the most important programs of mutual interest.
Speaking about the construction work in the Talin-Lanjik section of the North-South highway, which carries out "Synohydro" company, Karen Karapetyan underlined the need for quality work and demanded the necessary steps to eliminate all the problems.
Other issues related to the possible involvement of Armenia into a new "Silk Road" program and the Armenian-Chinese relations were also discussed during the meeting.
