13 companies producing wine, brandy and other alcoholic beverages with the support of Armenia's wine growing and winemaking funds are participating for the first time in Shanghai, China on November 14-16, at "Prowine China 2017". Armenian winemaking and brandy production are presented in a single pavilion. The sector is one of the government's priorities, so the participation of companies with export potential has been co-financed through state support.
"Prowine China" is one of the largest international exhibitions of the sector, 650 companies are participating in it this year from 37 countries, more than 12,000 importers and professionals are expected to visit it. Foundations representatives have made preliminary cognitive work with international buyer organizations and distributors to create demand for Armenian products.
The Asian market is targeted for Armenia, where, according to experts of two foundations, Armenian production is competitive due to the combination of millennial traditions of winemaking and the latest technology. Armenian wines and cognacs are exported to around 25 countries worldwide.
"The Asian market is a new, but perspective direction for exporting Armenian companies. We have great plans. The government has created favorable conditions for winemaking and brandy, and the interest of investors and international buyers is also evident in the field. As a result, grape vineyards grow in different regions of Armenia, new factories are established, this direction of tourism attracts more tourists to our country, "noted Armen Avak Avakyan, Executive Director of the Armenian Development Fund.
"In the country of wine- in Armenia wine making today is being revived and with the participation of this exhibition, as a country introducing the royal drink to humanity, we are applying for the international wine market again. Armenian wine and cognac are full of flavors and have all the prerequisites to get a worthy competitive place in the international market, "said Zaruhi Muradyan, executive director of the Armenian Wine and Winemaking Foundation.
