Prime Minister Karen Karapetyan gave a government order today to simplify the procedure for issuing a certificate of country of origin of the product.

According to him, the issue of the certificate on the country of origin of goods is of great importance in the sphere of export of goods, in particular, in the decision of customs payments privileges. That is why, according to him, it is especially important that this process be carried out clearly, predictable and do not create difficulties for honest businessmen.

Karen Karapetyan noted that at present the Chamber of Commerce and Industry will undertake measures to introduce digital instruments through which electronic applications and certifications will be provided to businessmen electronically.

"The procedure of issuing a certificate of country of origin and examination of domestic and international goods, includes rules which are not clear, and the issuance of the certificate or the examination of the product causes the discretionary powers to perform various interpretations. There are also no mechanisms for controlling cases of refusal to issue certificates or non-substantive examinations, "said the Prime Minister.

Karen Karapetyan instructed the Minister of Economic Development and Investments to submit to the Executive Director of the Center for Strategic Initiatives and the Chamber of Commerce and Industry within a month to develop and submit to the Government Staff suggestions on simplifying and clarifying the procedure for granting and issuing a certificate of origin of the country of goods, including the issues related to refusals to issue certificates or non-substantive examinations
