In his first meeting with journalists in Yerevan, French Ambassador to Armenia Jonathan Lakot stated that Armenian-French political relations are very rich.

The ambassador pointed out that he was lucky as he came to Armenia during the rapprochement with the EU. Lakot mentioned that 2018 is a year of events for Armenia. Firstly, the 100th anniversary of the First Republic of Armenia will be celebrated and on this occasion French Government representatives will visit Armenia to celebrate the 2800th anniversary of Erebuni-Yerevan.

Lacotte also mentioned the other area where there is a need to deepen relations. He underlined that in this sphere he is ready to make investments, it is an economic sphere. According to Lacoth, there is a great potential here, both from the point of view of the investment and there are many things to do in trade-economic direction.
