"The current international ratings of Armenia's digital transformation are insufficient, which is conditioned by the lack of complete statistical data and the lack of monitoring tools," RA Prime Minister Karen Karapetyan said at today's executive session.


According to him, in parallel, it is also necessary to extend the range of state services rendered to the public by means of simplifying administration, reducing the timeframe and possible corruption risks.

Taking into account the above mentioned, the Prime Minister instructed the heads of republican executive bodies and the Executive Director of the "Digital Armenia" Fund to inventory and process specific actions aimed at improving the Armenian index in international numerical ratings and ensuring progress.

In addition, he instructed to summarize and record the range of priority public services to be digitized in the near future and to present them to the Government Staff. The Minister assigned the Transport, Communication and IT Minister to undertake the function of monitoring the improvement of the Armenian indicators in the international rating of information and communication technologies and provision of professional assistance to the relevant bodies.

Karen Karapetyan proposed the head of the National Statistical Service of Armenia to develop a digital statistical database for the use and development of digital tools within a month, and to develop a comprehensive database of annual data, together with the Digital Armenia Fund, to present to the Government Staff suggestion on the initiation and implementation of the e-Statistics pilot program.

"By this rating we are illogically falling behind. That is, we are falling behind not because our situation is bad, but because we have not provided the necessary regular information. That's why I asked Mr. Gabrielyan to summarize all the ratings, to be assigned a responsible person to understand who did not do his job", said Karen Karapetyan.
