
The Polish side views Armenia as an advantageous platform for entering the Iranian and Eurasian markets, at the same time expressing willingness to become such a platform for Armenian products to enter the EU market. The participants of the sixth session of the Armenian-Polish Intergovernmental Commission on Economic Cooperation held in Warsaw expressed such an opinion.
The Armenian side was represented by Deputy Minister of Economic Development and Investments Hovhannes Azizyan, Polish President, Deputy Minister of Entrepreneurship and Technology of the Republic of Poland Tadeusz Koschinski.
"Taking into account the peculiarities of Polish economy as possible spheres of cooperation, we have highlighted pharmaceuticals, information technologies, agribusiness and renewable energy. I want to emphasize that the interest of Polish business in Armenia was quite high. According to the RA Ministry of Economic Development and Investments, during the session the sides also touched upon the tourism sector, the sides noted that bilateral visits to tourism were recorded. In particular, in 2017 the number of inbound visits from Poland to Armenia increased by 40%. The Polish side has proposed to organize a cognitive visit of tour operators and journalists to Armenia. It was also mentioned that the interregional tourism result is of particular interest for Poland.
