
In 2018, the Eurasian Development Bank expects positive growth rates in the member countries and a 2.2% GDP growth. In Armenia, the GDP growth will be 3%, in Belarus - 2.6%, in Kazakhstan - 3.7%, in Kyrgyzstan - 4.2%, in Russia - 2%, in Tajikistan - 7.3%. This is stated in the macroeconomic report prepared by EDB chief economist group.
The low level of inflation recorded in 2017 (around 3% in the whole region) will increase to 4% by 2018, but remain within the target orientation of central / national banks. In 2018 in Armenia the inflation is forecasted at 3.4% (with a growth in December compared to December of last year), in Belarus - by 6%, in Kazakhstan - by 5.8%, in Kyrgyzstan - by 4.7%, in Russia - by 3.8% and in Tajikistan - by 6.1%.
The report notes that in 2017 the economy of the EDB member countries has been adapted to external negative conditions and has entered a positive economic growth path. The next few years's issue is to provide a more stable and high economic growth in the region.
The authors of the report point out that EDB member states have positive growth rates, due to external conditions improvement, gradual mitigation of monetary policy and fiscal incentives.
