Nothing hinders the development of the Armenian-Iranian partnership. Armenian Minister of Energy and Natural Resources Ashot Manukyan told journalists in the course of the 15th session of the Armenian-Iranian intergovernmental commission held today in Yerevan, answering the question about the Armenian-Iranian partnership, that it is always talked about, but it is not fully implemented. What prevents a broader partnership?

According to the minister, though the potential of Armenia is not fully used, the meetings of the intergovernmental commission as well as high-level meetings contribute to solving existing problems. "I do not see any problem on the way of our cooperation," said the Minister.

Touching upon the issues raised by the businessmen, particularly the differences in legislation, which is one of the main obstacles to cooperation, Ashot Manukyan mentioned that in December 2017 a free economic zone was opened in Meghri and the Free Economic Zone of Iran operates in Iran and expressed confidence that the cooperation between the two free economic zones will contribute to the leveling of those legislative differences that exist.

"Of course, the legislation in our countries is different, of course they can have different comments, they can create different realities, but two free economic zones will solve such problems," said the Minister of Energy and Natural Resources.
