
The economic growth in Armenia in 2017 was 7.5%. According to the National Statistical Service, Armenia's GDP in 2017 was 5,580.1 billion drams or about $ 11.5 billion (the exchange rate in 2017 was 482.72 drams for 1 dollar).
According to the NSS, Armenia's GDP grew by 7.1% in the first trimester of 2017, by 6.6%- in the second trimester, by 4.6%- in the third , by 11.2%- in the fourth.
The last year's economic growth was the highest since 2007, when the Armenian economy grew by 13.7%. Moreover, for the first time in the last five years, Armenia was able not only to provide the indices of growth of the state budget but also to exceed them. According to the state budget, the economy growth in 2017 made 3.2%.
The high economic growth rate in Armenia in 2017 has been achieved thanks to the growth in industry (12.6% growth), trade (14%), services (14.4%) and construction (2.2%). And only the volume of gross agricultural output dropped by 3%.
