The SFS is going to study the food and water used in fish farms. The service notes that deviations of water safety indicators in fish farms can also lead to fish deviation.

At the meeting with representatives of large fish breeding, importing and exporting companies, and the chairman of the Fish Farm, State Food Safety Service Deputy Head Hovhannes Hayrapetyan emphasized that one of the primary issues for fish breeding companies is fish fodder and water. It was also noted that at this stage, the Service will try to find out the problems of the field, to provide professional advice to the entrepreneurs.

Though many of the economic entities cooperate with the EU's authoritative companies, they buy fish fodder from them, fodder may become useless during transportation and lead to deviations from legal norms of the Republic of Armenia.

"Epidemiological Monitoring will soon be carried out in fish farms. We will be consistent in order to avoid the deviations of the fish in the territory of the Republic of Armenia. Together we will find and eliminate possible shortcomings. This is also beneficial for those businesses who have appropriate volumes and are interested in presenting their products both in the EAEU market and in the EU market in the near future, "said Hovhannes Mkrtchyan, Head of the SFS Veterinary Inspectorate.

As a result of the study, an agreement was reached with the farmers to take samples from the fish used and the water from the pools during the tour.
