The economic activity index of Armenia in January-February 2018 has exceeded the index of the same period of last year by 8.6%.

According to the National Statistical Service of Armenia, the growth in the construction sector made 22.7% and 21 billion 643 million drams. In January-February 2018, electricity production increased by 3.5 % compared to the same period last year. This year the volume of services (except trade) has increased by 15.1% compared to two months of 2017, making 225 billion 686.2 million drams. The volume of gross agricultural output has decreased by 0.1 % to 45 billion 332.1 million drams.

Consumer price index increased by 3.1% in January-February of the current year and the index of industrial production prices by 4.4%.

Trade turnover increased by 17.4% to 395 billion 062.3 million drams. The volume of industrial production is 254 billion 703.5 million drams, 8.3% more than in January-February 2017. The average monthly nominal salary increased by 8.9% (197 thousand 850 AMD). The average monthly nominal salary in the state sector was 167,364 drams, an increase by 8.6 %compared with the previous year, and in the private sector - 226,459 drams, increasing by 4.7 %. Foreign trade turnover increased by 43.2% ($ 1 billion 098.4 million) in January-February 2018, compared with the same period last year, while exports increased by 41% ($ 386.9 million), and imports rose by 44.4% ($ 711.5 million). The dram's exchange rate against the US dollar was 481.88 in January-February 2018.
