In 2017, about $ 181.7 million investment was made in the sphere of transport and communication of Armenia. This was reported by RA Minister of Transport, Communication and Information Technologies Vahan Martirosyan to President Serzh Sargsyan, stated the Public Relations and Media Department of the Armenian Presidential Administration.

According to the minister, about $ 70 million of total investments were private investments aimed at rebuilding and upgrading networks in the field of electronic communications.

Martirosyan also presented to the President the works carried out in road construction. More than a thousand road signs, 8500 meters of metal barriers were installed on the Yerevan-Sevan highway. There are also barriers in the most dangerous parts of the highways, in Saravan, Sisian and Fioletovo.

In 2017 the European Union has approved a $ 5 million grant to improve road safety, which will significantly contribute to the solution of problems in the area.
