At today's government session, Prime Minister Karen Karapetyan touched upon the construction activity in the regions and the elaboration of the master plans.
According to him, one of the criteria for assessing the construction sector's activity is the issuance of construction permits. According to the Prime Minister, 2404 construction permits were issued in 2016, while 3407 permits were issued in 2017 in provinces and Yerevan, which is by 1003 more.
"Despite the positive dynamics, we must state that the lack of master plans and drafts of communities and settlements is an obstacle to the construction work in the regions, especially from the point of view of predictability," said Karen Karapetyan.
The Prime Minister instructed the Minister of Territorial Administration and Development, the State Committee for Urban Development and the governors to develop a common normative approach to building permits by community leaders within a one-month period, including the duration and the required documents. At the same time, the State Committee for Urban Development envisages a mechanism for receiving complaints about granting such permits and response mechanisms.
"I think this kind of institution should also have governors, Mr. Lokyan," said the Prime Minister.
In addition, Karen Karapetyan assigned the Head of the State Committee for Urban Development to ensure the implementation of the master plans and project designs of communities and settlements according to the approved schedule.
