
Prime Minister Karen Karapetyan held a consultation, during which the process of reforms and programs implemented in the field of social protection was discussed.
RA Minister of Labor and Social Affairs Artem Asatryan, referring to the reforms implemented in the field of disability, noted that they are transitioning to an electronic system.
According to the minister, it is envisaged to receive information on the beneficiaries from the health electronic system, to carry out a full reorganization of medical and social expertise commissions. The minister added that the whole package of reforms is expected to be introduced in November this year.
The Prime Minister attached importance to the steps taken in this direction and underlined that they should first of all promote the targeting. At the same time, Karen Karapetyan instructed to review the terms of the system.
Referring to the reform of the children's rights protection, the responsible persons reported that their goal is to ensure the right of the child to live in a family, to create and develop alternative care services providing children's round the clock access to these services. In addition, in 2018, the development of alternative care for children will also include the adoption of children, guardianship, expansion of foster families, creation of small houses.
It was also informed that new strategic approaches are being applied in the employment sphere. According to the sector officials, it will be possible to implement targeted pilot programs on employment due to close cooperation with a number of international organizations, which will contribute to the improvement of employment indicators, organization of training courses for specialists of the State Employment Agency. It was noted that 68.5% of citizens registered in the State Employment Agency were provided with jobs during 2014-2017.
The Prime Minister deemed necessary to promote the employment of registered people in the Agency and noted that for this purpose, a tool should be created that will encourage employers to hire citizens registered in the State Employment Agency.
They also touched upon the reforms envisaged in the field of labor legislation as well as the process of digitalization of a number of services.
