From now on, it will be possible to identify in Armenia an ordinary cell phone and place an electronic signature for online services provided by both public and private companies.
The pilot project developed by Nikita Mobile, one of the leading mobile marketing and e-commerce service providers in Armenia.
The company has presented the application and has signed a memorandum of cooperation with EKENG, the e-governance project coordinator in Armenia, as well as with the companies "VEON Armenia" and "Ucom".
The launch of the program is based on the government decision, which mandates all public and private service providers to provide citizens with ID card or mobile ID from April 1.
Mobile ID technology allows you to perform a person's electronic identification to receive electronic services. The essence of the technology is that a citizen's electronic signature (personal key) is registered on a new generation SIM card - USIM card. This card will be linked to the Online Center for Electronic Management Infrastructure Implementation (EKENG) in Armenia. Mobile ID works with two pin-codes, the first of which is for identification and the second for electronic signature. Additionally, both the company's specialists and the subscriber can activate their mobile phones at www.mobileid.am. It's noteworthy that the app works on any phone, even on Android and iOS systems.
